I am looking to purchase a BX1850 w/54" Deck. I have been quoted approx 9000.00 for this tractor. Does this sound like a good deal or would a BX2350 be a better machine in the long run. My yard is approx 1.2 achers. I wanted to stay away from the Lowes cheap machines.
Thanks,

I have the old bx2200 w/54" deck, and the extra power is nice when you get into long grass , but the one your looking at is a great machine also. ....

If you ever decide to get a front loader or snowblower, having the extra h.p. of the BX-2350 would be the way to go. ....

It's amazing but sometimes power is nice but we haven't had anyone asking to swap a 18 horsepower unit for a 22 or 23. We've actually got many satisfied customers with the 1500 with blowers here in central NY. A lot depends on how much time you need to spend or have available as in tougher conditions you do need to slow down. At four miles an hour you should be able to mow your yard in about 30 minutes! I wouldn't recommend less for longevity sake of your engine, you'd might not even get it warmed up to the operating temp! ....

Art;
Thanks for the information. I do not have a premium membership tharefore, I cannot see the last part of your post. Are you recommending the BX2350 over the BX1850 ?. You can email me at bblanton at concentric.net .
In addition, sometimes I wonder if this is overkill but I do not want to waste any more money on the cheaper garden tractors.
Please tell me what you think.
Thanks;
Robert ....

Unless you are running a 10 KW generator you won't notice the difference in horsepower between the two. ....

Bought a BX2200. Traded it for B7800 due to needing to do more front loader work. Bought BX1500 and use it for mowing over 2 acres hill side. Best of bunch for mowing. Also use 3pt for some uses. Traction is the issue for me with any of them. BX1500 never bogs in grass and I don't mow as often as I should and for mowing traction has always been there by sometimes engaging 4 wheel drive instead of just front drive. ....
